From what I've read on the forums, they've changed Pumper's cockpit too much and the new cockpit is subpar as compared to Pumper's full mod.

I also run the 970. I couldn't be more pleased with it. X-Plane looks amazing.

I've been slowly creating scenery for the Gateway whenever I fly somewhere that doesn't have scenery (usually in conjunction with FSE). Most are in Socal.

Indeed, and they're all contributed by users as part of the Scenery Gateway Project . My versions of KEMT, KBVU, KTSP, U30, and CL13 should be in the next version. I got mine up and running yesterday. Vast improvement. I've tweaked it to get about 30 FPS in the "busy" areas of LA and San Diego. Very pleased with it.

I'm actually getting ready to build a system with the same specs (4790K, EVGA GTX 970, 16GB Ram). Whatever the performance, it will undoubtedly be better than my 3 yr old iMac with a 512mb video card. :)
