Re: Recordings - no sound?
Thanks Kevin, my Firefox sound was muted for some reason. I wasn't expecting that because I could hear sound from Youtube and other stuff, I guess it uses a different channel.

Float planes ATC phraseology
Hi, this isn't directly related to PE but since we have so many great controllers here I thought I would ask. What would be the correct phraseology from ATC when controlling a float plane on approach near a towered airport (within a C or a D airspace) for landing on the water? Cleared to land? Clear...

Re: Keith Please.....
http://assets.pilotedge.net/recordings/hourly/2014-5-2_13_17510.mp3 You know audio recordings are available on the website, right? ;) I laughed my arse off, it's fantastic when ATC add a little bit of humour and Keith is a maestro in doing that. Also, the distinctive australian accent and pilot's re...

Re: Turbulence in Socal
Thanks for sharing Mark, I see now it's not my sim or ASN playing tricks on me. I've just finished a flight with an A320 into LGB, again it was shaky but of course not much of a problem on an Airbus compared to a Piper. It was actually fun, I don't mind having to deal with moderate turbulence on a j...

Re: Turbulence in Socal
Pieces, I was not familiar with the definitions of moderate and severe turbulence, thank you for explaining. I have never lost control of aircraft except having to constantly correct for banking left and right and being unable of mantaining altitudes, I've had a drop of 800fpm once but I was at 750...

Turbulence in Socal
I've been expeiencing severe turbulence in the last week in Socal, to the point that flying on PE lately is not being as much fun as it should. From departure to landing I don't have a moment of steady flying, aircraft shakes up and down, left and right all the time and it's a pain when flying witho...
