Re: Reporting airport in sight on visual approach

Keith: not entirely odd. I frequently can't make out airports in many areas. They often "come in" at around 20nm, but many don't, or are just difficult to make out. Sometimes "marching ants" which often delineate a runway from further away, can help. It's scenery dependent, of co...

Sun'n'fun 2021

I see they have set up a taxiway as a parallel runway. So, could be a lot of traffic. Has PE considered doing a few hours for that, each day?

Re: PEaware and Adobe Flash

Thanks Tim. I didn't expect it to be a piece of cake, as presumably you have to change to HTML5. Anyway, it's good to know that you are on the case, and it will be appreciated when you can find time to do it. Take care.

PEaware and Adobe Flash

Just two weeks to go before Adobe ceases to support Flash. On Macs, Big Sur is not supporting Flash at all. Will PEaware please update? I haven't seen my records, etc. for a while now......

Re: Crash on Mac with 1.6.3c

Sorted! There was a conflict with a CSL when I merged the newer client on the Mac. So, I started with 1.6.3 and just replaced the mac.xpl file with the version in 1.6.3c. Then (after OS X Catalina made me jump through the permissions routines) it was OK.

Crash on Mac with 1.6.3c

HI Just updated to 1.6.3c on the Mac. It crashed 11.41 immediately: Failed: /Applications/X-Plane 11/Resources/plugins/PilotEdge/mac.xpl. (The plugin refused to start by returning 0 from XPluginStart.) Will this only work in Metal and 11.50? Thanks. Reverted to older plugin, which works fine - excep...

KTUS to KDEN

This was really enjoyable until, about 100 miles or so from Rattlesnake, X-Plane crashed! What a nuisance. Still, the event seemed to be going well............. Never mind. Hope everyone had a good time.

Re: PEaware and Adobe Flash

The use of Flash is minimal on peware. It handles the traffic graphs and vertical profiles. Understanding that the tech stack behind peware is very old will likely help provide some context as to why the change hasn't been made. Not as old as me, Keith ;) It is also good to see our personal pie cha...

PEaware and Adobe Flash

Probably under control, but Adobe stops all support of Flash at the end of the year. Already (except for some workarounds), Flash is unusable on iPhones and iPads. As it displays a lot of useful info. on PEaware, I'm just a little surprised that the alternative isn't already up and running. We don't...

Re: [Jul 21-25] SimVenture 2020

It sounds like your radios were going dead. When idle on the ground, make sure to keep the RPM above ~1000RPM in order for the alternator to continue providing a positive charge to the battery so it doesn't drain. Thanks for that. It's possible, I suppose. I have rarely forgotten to put the alterna...
