Re: KPSP Airspace = What?

When you talk to Saginaw Approach or Muskegon Approach, you have established two-way communication with the controlling agency for the Class D airspace. Thats interesting to know. How does an out of town pilot know that the voluntary communication with a traffic service count as 2 way communication...

Re: KPSP Airspace = What?

As a real world pilot who makes occasional trips into Bermuda Dunes, here is my take on the TRSA. It is nothing more than a concentrated So-Cal Approach. I don't even view it as "like a Class C". I only contact them if my workload permits. When VFR and departing to the north I'll tune in a...

Re: Best P3d Weather Engine

that is helpful in helping me understand better. I have Opsus FSI and REX Textures and I set my draw distance for the furthest the settings will let me (still getting very playable fps). It looks great!

You can listen to Com2, just don't play it so loud you can't hear a call to yourself

Re: Seeking General Opinions on a NonPrecision Approach

I don't know what the I-7 requires you to do but here is my opinion on what you did. You should have been failed for not flying the chart. Reality is, if you were really flying the airplane you would have gone straight down the final approach course and circled to land when you were through the clou...

Re: Best P3d Weather Engine

I am going to sound like a total idiot, but I didn't know about the "Themes"
My previous install I only installed REX mid level cloud textures and thats it.
Just an entire theme and WOW that made a difference.

Re: Best P3d Weather Engine

Thank you for the replies. I had my P3d on a 60GB SSD portion and it was giving my all sorts of problems especially since it was full, just wiped it clean and am putting it on its own new 120GB. I am going to give Donavan's strategy a try. Opus with Rex-4 Textures. I'll let ya'll know how it goes

Re: Flying a radial with the 430?

My two cents on this subject in regards to installing a flight plan into a gps. In real life, unless I am using a gtn750, it is much easier to fly using the ground fixes than it is to figure out how to load and confirm a gps. I always use ground based navigation unless I get a "Direct to" ...

Best P3d Weather Engine

I have Opus so I can get live weather, but it just isn't that great.
I have all my settings for the most dense clouds etc but I am seeing the runways far before the local metar is reporting. Clouds are always slightly scattered.

Does anybody have a suggestion for a good weather engine?
