Thanks for the response Peter. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something.

EMMLN ONE Arrival

I filed the PSPP8A from KTRM to KTOA today and was given the EMMLN ONE arrival in my clearance. Is that arrival appropriate for KTOA? I know it is used for multiple airports in the area of SLI, but KTOA is not listed on the arrival chart, nor is that arrival listed under KTOA's arrival procedures. I...

TEC Route Slider

Here’s a relic: It’s a old TEC Route “calculator” that was issued by the FAA Western Region (this was before FSDO’s) in 1977. You’d look for your departure airport on the left and then you’d slide the white card down until the little arrow pointed to your destination airport, and then you’d see the ...

Not sure if anyone else misses these fly-ins, but . . . I'll just put this out there . . . I do. :-)

Re: Do I need to follow airways when IFR?

can I do it with just a normally filed flight plan - or should I always be on an airway? Luke, I'm reading your question as, "can I legally file and fly an IFR flight plan that does not involve a victor airway?". Yes. We frequently fly this way in the western US to save time and get more ...

Re: Exercises in Airspace

What a great idea. Excellent exercises. I'm not sure how the challenges could be "graded" as pass/fail though with no ATC communication and squawking 1200.

Second that. The ATIS together with line of sight has just sent the immersion factor to new levels. I couldn't be more thrilled with this improvement.

Re: How are "Recent Flights" logged?

Five minutes should have been plenty long enough. I've logged off a bit too quick a few times and my flight didn't get registered to PEAware. No big deal. Just log back on, even if you have to restart your computer, and sit on the ramp for a couple of minutes. As long as a few hours haven't gone by ...

Re: Time for (PDC) pre-departure clearance in PilotEdge

More staffing would actually be more beneficial. We have the highest traffic levels the network has ever seen at that moment (see the graphs on peaware). We're doing our best to bolster weekend taffing. In the mean time, have you tried Western US? It's not quite as crowded, and there are 1000+ non-...

That's a new one to me. :-) I'd love to hear the audio - What was your tail number and landing time?
