Re: PE Client - Hearing other Pilots at other Airports
I'm glad you asked, because I hadn't read that thread either. Very helpful. I was particularly glad to read that PE is growing.

Re: Looking to Lease CRJ200/B200
I'd like to buy and build an FBO in the PE coverage area, too. That link on MyFlightRoute suggests there's hope of finding one in the PE area. I'm not really sure how to get started, though. I've perused the "FBO Sales" listings in the FSE client, and I read the FSE forum section on FBO sa...

Re: Am I in the penalty box? Newbie with some questions...
Edit: Sounds like I need to make more use of MyFlightRoute! I used it for the first time this weekend, on the Poker Run, but didn't explore it in detail. I'll check it out. Stealthbob, I'm a newb too, and I make at least a couple mistakes during every session on Pilot Edge. Don't fret! You're not th...

Re: My new Archer in Portugal. How to get it home?
Thanks for the system advice. I should clarify that ordinarily I get 35-60+ FPS in X-Plane, with most rendering settings on quite high -- HDR, AA, objects at extreme, tree-hugger, lots of cars, with compromises on clouds and view distance. Some scenery hardly fazes it. Unfortunately, though, some sc...

Re: My new Archer in Portugal. How to get it home?
I had a great time doing the Poker Run yesterday, and now I've resumed my steady march toward the PE coverage area. My Archer is now at Roy Wilcox Field in Chatom, Alabama. I hope to make it as far as Fort Worth tonight, but we'll see. At this rate, I should be "home" by the end of the wee...

Re: March 29th - Poker Run!
LoL, thanks for the "special consideration" for my late (and pokey) finish! My trusty Archer was really racing today -- we were doing as much as 120 knots on the last flight!

Re: March 29th - Poker Run!
Hi guys, What a blast! I arrived about a half hour late at Big Bear City; my Piper Archer 2 is no speedster. I had an Ace high (with a ten kicker), which puts me around 34th place, I guess. I arrived too late for the official results, but I hope history will record my participation in some way. :) L...

Re: New pilot, question: pausing
Brr! Those portable things look nasty. OK, I'll say something to the controller if I need to visit the loo. I'd rather say something 'in character" than "AFK," though. Maybe "visiting the restroom in the first-class cabin of my surprisingly spacious Piper Archer 2." :) This ...

Re: My new Archer in Portugal. How to get it home?
Thanks for your reply, Nelson! Hehe, one reason I bailed on FSX was indeed its emphasis on CPU power. With X-Plane, I get better performance and better stability, and I like the flight model better. I'm also getting a kick out of making "Lego brick" airports for X-Plane. Ooh, I didn't know...

Re: New pilot, question: pausing
I hope it's okay to revive a somewhat dated thread. I have a related question. I don't anticipate ever pausing simply because I've made a piloting error. But what if the family needs me downstairs, or (blush) I need to use the restroom mid-flight? The latter seems to be a more frequent concern for m...
