Ive been using PE for quire a while now but now Im in the midst of leaving p3dv5.1 ( which what i have had as my platform for ages) as i have a bunch of scenery in that sim which is really messed up or no longer accurate. In fact some of the airports are just wrong or missing runways. I am playing a...

I am Canadian and we do get pref routes from navcan and tc. , what is the best source for pref routes in the us. I typically don’t include ...

Re: Preferred routes Foreflight vs piloted.clarification ple
Hey Keith, I will do that , ive been flying online a lot this week after some surgery, so ill send you a few examples of routes filed from Foreflight and then the full route clearance amendment I would have thought that the route gizmo in Foreflight would have worked out ( seems to work in real life...

Preferred routes Foreflight vs piloted.clarification please
Recently when on PilotEdge and planning an ifr flight plan I select my route from Foreflight. I use the route function when selecting the city pair to find the most appropriate route based upon aircraft type. route ,flight planned altitude, atis etc. That is also what I do in real life when planning...

xplane 11 weather
Probably been asked 100's of times but with xplane11 should i use a third party weather plugin with pilot edge or will xplane 11 inject weather. There is a setting within the sim for RW weather but it seems not to be updating often. Further, is pilotedge injecting some other weather from noaa or oth...

I agree with that as well, one can easily overdo it. Thanks and those manuals are actually pretty awesome and a good learning tool when starting out! Takes some mystery out of the system when learning this stuff and notably Canada and US are similar but different.

Re: Announcing IFR too many times. sop?
Keith here is my take, I would not be wrong to state my intention"ifr" once given the authority to take off. Ie I would say something like n123mt . clear to t/o rnwy 33, ifr Ok, your controller might shoot me but once I state my next move for the 3rd time but if I'm clear then I know what ...

Re: Announcing IFR too many times. sop?
Interesting. I actually fly ifr allot in the real world. I’m not shy ever about telling atc what I’m up to. Even if it is repetitive. Better safe than sorry. . I’m sure you guys see and hear much which is hilarious online. The interesting thing is it’s hard enough to fly the sim with precision at ti...

Announcing IFR too many times. sop?
So the other night I announced ( as I do in the real world ) that I was IFR. I announced to clearance delivery that I was IFR when looking for my clearance (obviously) I announced... ready to taxi... IFR then at the threshold ... ready for departure... IFR I actually got some pushback from the contr...
