Re: Disconnecting vom PE after landing

Years ago, when I was using VATSIM for pseudo-ATC, I noticed the tracker they used (same one as PEAware, more or less) would not register a flight as "arrived" without some amount of ground travel. I assume it was because the tracker algorithm needs to see some low-speed, low-level movemen...

Re: Realistic Sounding ATC...Reviving old topic

When you say volume cranked to max, where is the volume cranked exactly? With X-Plane (on most planes) you can actually use the radio volume knob in the plane, or you can go into the sound settings and crank the radio slider up there. Following up as today is my first chance to fly in a while...Rad...

Re: Realistic Sounding ATC...Reviving old topic

One minor concern with the new audio experience...in my headset, the audio levels are incredibly low, even with volume cranked to 100. This is not the case in other applications (e.g., WebEx, Skype). This low volume condition leads to some potential for misheard directions. (Although, I will allow t...

Re: Your favorite GA single?

My favorite GA Single has been the Bonanza F33 for a very long time. The C210 (with the REP add-on) is a very close second. Both are a blast to bomb around the skies of the PE area, hauling virtual pax hither and yon. Recently, I was toying with picking up a C177RG, but with the fee changes in FSE, I...

Re: FBOs with assignments within PE coverage area

General Aviation FBOs: KBTY 66CA CA97 70CL NV00 NV36 0L4 Assignments between KBTY and the nearby, small lots in Nevada (0L4, NV00,NV36,70CL) are great for VFR sight-seeing in the BK17. KBTY to 66CA or CA97 is a longer shot, with the fun and excitement of shooting the Trona Gap on the eastern end of ...

Re: Prepar3D v3 Being Released

As an alumnus, my alma mater provides a .edu email address for me to use. Despite having graduated <cough> uh, a long time ago, I was able to use that .edu address to get academic pricing for Adobe CC. I'm not interested in P3D at all, but I wonder if they simply require a .edu address as well.

Re: Realworld vs. FSX Foreflight

Don't overlook the following FREE app. It's good for those none real world flyers that want to enjoy the benefit of a moving map on their iPad while flying the sim. A couple friends of mine that only fly flight sim love the app as they don't feel it's necessary to pay for ForeFlight or WingX Pro. h...

Re: GPS 530

PFPX Flight Planner will also create a X-Plane FMS plan in the X-Plane directory. I have airplane configs for the King Air 200 and PC12. John John- Any chance I could get those configs from you? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the template thing in PFPX (lack of time to do so, mostly...
