Great learning Experience - Leg 2 BFL - CMA
Just wanted to share a great learning experience on my 2nd flight on the Challenge. I filed VFR, Real World weather, and had picked up that towards KCMA cloud base was Scattered going OVC at around 9,000. But I figured I would be well below and in descent by this point. I'm a RW student pilot (VFR) ...

Re: XACARS and PE ATC conflict
HI Keith, coming back to you on this one, as I still cant figure out a solution.
Probably, XACARS does override the 'Contact ATC Command' - but I cant find any workaround.
Any ideas of how to fix this?

entry to hold patterns
i have a (probably naive) question. In studying entry procedures into standard/non-standard holds such as for standard PDZ for I-11, I get the Direct, Parellel, and Offset rules BUT the thing that throws me is that Parallel entry is flying on the outbound heading in the opposite direction to any oth...

XACARS and PE ATC conflict
Im unable to use XACARS (v 2.5.4) for reporting online flights to my virtual airline, as always the combination allows me to hear ATC but not for ATC to hear me. I have to disable XACARS and reboot before i can begin comms. Im OSX, Xplane 10, all latest updates in place. Has anyone else had this pro...

Re: Correct Tail Numbers
Hey Peter,
Uugh! I missed your clarification in our online conversation completely. Now I get it!
But thanks for taking the time to spell it out to me.
Hear you online soon, as a new CG - something.
Best
Michael

Correct Tail Numbers
I had an interesting series of conversations on PE last evening. I've been using a tail/registration number beginning CG(XXX) without challenge for the 6 months I've been flying online . On my last night's flight my call sign was challenged, on the basis that CG is the preserve of the US Coast Guard...

Re: Flying into ATC coverage
Thanks Peter for the prompt reply.
And yes, silly of me, TEC's need a Departure point within SOCAL, that's what they're there for.....

Flying into ATC coverage
I have two questions: 1: I'm sure someone's asked and been answered this 1st question before, but in searching the forum's I can't find it. Can I fly into PE's ATC coverage area? Either by: Filing a flight plan before I enter coverage, or, contacting ATC before entering coverage? And, if the 2nd act...
