Video of my Simulator
Today I had a nice and intens SIM session with a VFR pilot who flies at Eindhoven Airport (EHEH). We wanted to test VFR into IMC flight scenarios, something that can happen to any VFR pilot. Trick is not to loose control of the aircraft and fly the aircraft using Instruments only until back into VMC...

Re: Simheaven's LAX OrtoScenery sharing...?
Hi guys, Thanks for your help. It is working now, downloaded 4 tiles already, they are big (~6 GB) but woow... what an improvement compared with the default X-Plane textures. I will post a short video in the Screenshot & Video section of my sim in action using the Ortho textures. Meanwhile I nee...

Re: Simheaven's LAX OrtoScenery sharing...?
Hi RyanK thanks for the tip......... I don't have it in front of me, but one of the config parameters is something like "delta_res", which lowers the zoom level by that amount once you get a certain distance (something like "max_res_radius") from the coordinates. Set that to zero...

Re: Simheaven's LAX OrtoScenery sharing...?
Have you considered using Ortho4XP. No not really, but now I downloaded the software but would like to stick for the moment at G2XPL. Ortho4XP does also require quite some configuration to do as well as a Pyton install. Yes I donated so I received the unlimited version by mail today. G2XPL is worki...

Simheaven's LAX OrtoScenery sharing...?
Hi Guys, When flying on PE I'm using the default X-plane scenery which is great but not very reallife like (except for roads, lakes etc...) I really would like to install some nice Ortho Photo scenery as this will make flying VFR in the SoCal area more real. Does anyone knows if nice OrthoScenery is...

Passed my V1 rating exam.
Today I passed my V1 test, three patterns at KSNA, I'm very pleased. What did I learn: Keep calm, even if the controller ask you to do something which was not expected. I trained this pattern work many time, online and offline. This time the controller asked me, while on downwind, to change the tran...

Practice Full approach at KSNA
Suppose I'm doing pattern work at KSNA and I also want to practice an ILS approach, e.g. a full approach via SLI as described in the training reference section.
Can I request doing this while in the pattern and how to do this?
regards,
Lisette

Finally Flying in the System
Being a former private Pilot in the netherlands, not flying in real life for a long time anymore, I finally subscribed to PE after lots of thinking about it. Flightsim enthousiast for many years and finally I can fly communicating with ATC, something that deepens my flightsim experience. First did t...

Re: Pilot Introductions
Thanks Keith, I certainly will try the suggested VFR flights to start with. I'm still feeling a bit uncomfortable flying online as I'm not very confident (yet) with the US ATC system and not being a native english speaker which makes understanding the controller sometimes a challenge (maybe for them...

Re: Pilot Introductions
Hi Guys, Well....I did it......tonight made my first flight on PE. Flew from Oceano to San luis Obispo (the beginners flight....), I used the beech Baron as speeds are considerably lower then the B1900. Takeoff from Oceano and made some circles south of the Oceano airport to collect some courage to ...
