prepar3d vs xplane Realistic Flight Dynamics

I realize that everyone has their opinion on their favorite flight Sim. I would like to keep this topic limited to realistic flight dynamics between prepar3d and Xplane. I switched to xplane from FSX because of the flight dynamics and am now considering building a cockpit using prepar3d for the visu...

Re: spinning planes

When I first looked at this I thought people were intentionally spinning Normal Category aircraft, or doing it in protected airspace. :)

Re: Tracking the Localizer Outbound

When your flying the back course for a localizer, the CDI will have reverse sensing. Some airports use the Back course as another non-precision approach. During my instrument training I was lucky enough to have one of these. What works for me is on the front course. Visualize that the center part of...

Re: X-Plane GPS

I use Reality XP gps in X-plane and it is by far the best gps sim. I use it with a PFC 430 control head and
managed to learn how to use gps waas. Plus, if you access the plug-in, you can select either 430 or 530
the PFC 430 control head will control either one.

Re: X-Plane external visuals

I connected tonight and it worked great! I was sitting on the ramp doing my preflight and saw a KIng Air taxi off the active runway! No doubts about the exteral working correctly now. I then did some touch and goes. Well worth all the frustration.

Re: Building your own simulator

You don't get to choose the aircraft included. You get the aircraft appropiate for the panels you buy. for instance if I get the Beech G1000 panel package. then i would also get the Beechcraft Bonanza A36/G36 Beechcraft Baron 58/G58. if you go to their website and "view" a package then a &...

Re: X-Plane external visuals

I would have to agree with that. someone needs to expand on the maual and add information to what each of the selections can do. there is so much configuration and power behind what can be connected or how data is out put from simulated hardware to the actural instruments. Like a Garmin or King. per...

Re: X-Plane external visuals

Connected! you were right Keith. i kept reading the labels slowere and slower and it finnially made sense. the syntax is [Role or type of visual],([is the machine that it is configured on]) is Role or purpose requires a single entry. I made the mistake of adding two entries on both machines. i knew ...

Re: Building your own simulator

You load the panel in simavio and then load the aircraft in xplane. I've loaded a panel for twin and loaded a single engine aircraft. you can also set the aircraft to load automatically for a certain panel. if you wanted to use your own aircraft and use a customized panel you modified, you could als...

Re: Building your own simulator

you would need to buy the base package, SimAvio. the SimAvio package includes the Nav database. then select one of the panel packages. for instance Piper G1000, all but the diamond aircraft panels come with the aircraft to use them. I beleive that these panels are used by pfc to create their panels....
