How to plan a flight to an airport only a few miles away?

Yesterday I had a job to fly several fseconomy passengers from KNSI to KSAN and KMYF. KSAN and KMYF are a few miles apart under their Bravo and Delta air spaces, respectively. I did the KNSI-KSAN leg by picking up VFR FF in the air. It went well. Once offloading a few passengers at KSAN, I had no id...

Re: selecting COM1 or COM2 for transmitting

"monitor ground" doesn't imply that you should remain on the current frequency AND monitor ground. ATC never assumes you have two radios, nor is there an operational requirement for them to instruct you to be on two freqs at once. So "monitor ground" is like "contact ground...

Re: selecting COM1 or COM2 for transmitting

This post is very clear about how to select COM1/2 for PE transmitting. Great job! I have some questions on the receiving side. I am sometimes told to "monitor Ground" by PE Tower controllers. How do I do this in XP? If my aircraft only supports receiving on one radio at a time, then I am ...

Re: Never again on PE - share your mistakes

During a VFR FF, I intended to ask "runway in use" but instead asked "approach to expect," which is an IFR phraseology.

Re: Where to park and how to tell GRND where I am?

Perfectly acceptable to say "im at Charlie and Charlie 7" Or.... "I'm just south of the GA hangers" Or "I'm base of the tower" Whatever "regular language" you can give to the controller so that he may find you and give you taxi instructions appropriately and ...

Re: Differences between airspace transition and FF during VF

Thanks for the explanations. It helps a lot.

So, in my story, I will treat radar contact as flight following until it is terminated. I will say "Socal App, CallSign, destination Van Nuys, please advise any restriction of Burbank Class Charlie."

Differences between airspace transition and FF during VFR?

I understand that I need to establish a two-way communication before entering a Class C or D airspace. Upon leaving the airspace, I'd expect "radar service terminated, squawk VFR" from the TRACON or tower. My question is: What should I do if this radar termination does not come (in time)? ...
