Re: X-Plane "Ground Speed" feature
Before posting my question, I did look at the FAQ (and at earlier Forum posts) but didn't find the answer. I now see that I didn't find it because I was searching for "Ground Speed" while the FAQ calls it "time acceleration." Anyway, thanks for your quick response.

X-Plane "Ground Speed" feature
X-Plane has a nice "Ground Speed" feature that lets users "fly" at 2, 4, 8 and 16 times actual ground speeds. I would like to use it on cross-country flights that have long straight-and-level segments, so I would be able to do flights in an hour or less that would take much longe...

Re: Not hearing many other pilots
When flying the northbound leg of the CAT-10 flight, I was on tower frequencies only. I could hear the controller talking with pilots from elsewhere but couldn't hear the responses of many of them. I am not the only one having this problem, I don't think. I've been listening to the PilotEdge Receive...

Not hearing many other pilots
I'm able to hear PilotEdge's controllers just fine, no matter what airport they are covering. It's a bit strange to hear -- for example -- the Burbank Tower controller when I'm on the Torrance Tower frequency. But I understand why a single controller covers many airports and I'm fine with that. I al...

Re: Photo-realitistic SoCal scenery for X-Plane/iMac ?
He doesn't have a site... you'll have to get in touch with him via private message there. He'll send you an initial email to discuss details etc. He kinda started with a few airports and you'd pay the fee and he'd send dropbox links. His airports are excellent though and the price has gone up but s...

Re: Photo-realitistic SoCal scenery for X-Plane/iMac ?
Additionally, I highly recommend GPB500's scenery for socal area (payware). There are a few other airports he has done outside of socal, but I think CMA is on the list. You can get in touch with him on x plane org https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/profile/410920-gpb500/ I found GPB500 on the Fo...

Re: Photo-realitistic SoCal scenery for X-Plane/iMac ?
Photo real scenery isn't going to give you airport cafe. For that, you're going to need to have someone build you some 3d airports (in cases where they don't exist). Otherwise for the enroute stuff, there should be some options for some nice photoreal scenery generated by ortho4xp. You might be abl...

Photo-realitistic SoCal scenery for X-Plane/iMac ?
Does anyone have a recommendation for photo-realistic scenery for Southern California, for use with X-Plane 11 running on an iMac? I'm looking for something that's easy to install, right from a DVD or download. And I'm willing to pay for it, if there's a well-regarded commercial product. X-Plane's b...
