Yeah, fun little route. Need to get the scenery files sorted out though, Steven was "parked" about 20' off the ground at Decatur from my perspective :P

Re: No PE for me for a while

That's a bummer AJ, though it solidifies my decision to not bother with V.10 until it's more sorted out. I'm finally feeling SOMEwhat competent on PE and I'd be rather miffed if I couldn't fly for a while.

I'm often in this situation myself, curious to hear what the experts say.

Re: >>> Availability survey for the next flight <<<

The first tour sounds like it was fun, I would definitely like to do the next one. As far as availability, I work mostly from home right now so almost any time during the week is good, as are Sundays.

Re: Never again on PE - share your mistakes

Same thing happened to me in my Carenado Mooney. I was on the downwind at Ontario waiting for landing clearance and suddenly I hear Keith informing me that ATC lost contact with me. On my end, I think it was due to spending too much time on the ramp with the battery and avionics on without the engin...

Re: Sending ATC audio to the headset

Just wanted to report that I tried the Griffin iMic that Steven mentioned earlier in the thread and it worked like a charm. Just $25 on Amazon and it solved all my audio issues. Thanks Steve! Hearing ATC on the headset and all other sounds on the external speakers is a nice bump in realism.

Re: New John Wayne Scenery for FS9

Oh, wow - well look at that, you're right!

I've been running custom scenery for so long and just automatically turned off roads, that I never gave them a fair chance. Just turned them on and viola, there's the 405 and 105 right by LAX as they should be.

Re: New John Wayne Scenery for FS9

I'll be getting ver10 either way, so I'll reserve judgement on the autogen until I've seen it first-hand. I just wish/hope there'll be a way to mimic the layout of freeways as they're such a major visual reference for VFR flying (in my admittedly limited RW flying experience). Sorry for the XPlane t...

Re: New John Wayne Scenery for FS9

Keith,

I've seen some screenshots of XP10's autogen and it does look very good. But high-res satellite imagery, especially with some correctly-placed 3D structures is hard to beat for immersive visuals, at least for someone who is familiar with the area.
