Re: Question on Shortening Callsign for ATC During Readbacks

Do not say, "request clearance as filed." We assume you've filed a flight plan, so it's redundant. While it's technically possible to pick up IFR clearances in Socal within the TEC route system without filing, requests for that are usually made as "request tower enroute to the [desti...

Re: How/Do Pilot Edge ATC Feel re: Airliner/Non-Airliner vs

Hey Keith! Thanks again as always for a great reply to my question. There must be something being done right in this very issue/topic's realm if I, not being told any of this directly, was kind of able to infer it :) [Cut out a long personal story reflecting my own learning on PE, as it was... too l...

How/Do Pilot Edge ATC Feel re: Airliner/Non-Airliner vs Exp

I couldn't really fit the question into the subject , sorry! How do PE controllers think or feel about pilots like myself, who still have a fairly good deal left to learn (not that we ever stop learning as the cliche kind of goes) flying airliners? Myself I mostly fly the B73x (-2 through -8) and MD...

Re: Question on Shortening Callsign for ATC During Readbacks

That's interesting. I was asking more about shortening my actual callsign in flight or even during CLD/GND comms, but that's probably not really possible or advisable. I have a bad habit of generally not saying I have information [A-Z] during clearance request or even taxi unless I'm asked about it....

Question on Shortening Callsign for ATC During Readbacks

Hello, all I'm pretty new to PilotEdge. This is my first month of paid subscription, and have flown about 4 flights on it total, or 5. Two two days ago had two serious pilot errors, but thankfully that taught me a lot such as actually bother to review the SID instructions for your runway...don't jus...

Re: groundspeed correction plugin

Hi, all. I am the user who submitted this, actually. Just wanted to say that my own method, using X-Plane 11 with lesser than adequate hardware specs, involved using 3jfps-wizard and 3jclouds as well, two other FlyWithLua scripts. Of course they did the best they could, after some tinkering, to brin...

Re: Never again on PE - share your mistakes

I was Alaskan 3355, an IFR airline flight (can't recall if I was in my Rotate MD-80 or another aircraft though). I was flying KRNO to KSEA, and up at FL280 as a cruising altitude. Well, for some reason I missed a call for a frequency change from I think Seattle center (sorry I'm from east coast, cou...
