True. But you have to move at some point to clear up the runway, unless someone knows how to use a Skycrane in the simulator
Actually FSX automatically moved me back to my parking spot shortly after.

Re: Multiple computers?
This is honestly the only thing keeping me from switching to X-Plane even though I own 9. I just can't get over how it's not a simple process of making new views and dragging them to your additional monitors on the same computer like FSX. It seems like a $6000 investment just to get X-Plane running ...

He's referring to this post: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2101 (Announcing collaboration with DigitalThemePark)
I'm looking forward to the workshops! I hadn't read the post in depth before now (this is a crazy busy month for me) but I'll keep my eyes open for announcements

Re: The actual Boulder VOR
Cool pic! I've only seen the OCN one in person and I've wondered if they all look the same. I can never seem to find the JLI VOR from the ground though. It must just be too high up.

Re: Pilot Edge helps me through rating.
Awesome. I had a similar experience using PilotEdge before my cross country PPL training. It really helps! Just starting to get into IFR basics on PE and am really learning a lot already.
Congrats on the rating! That's a good bit of learning

Re: Autopilot / ILS
I've been using the defaults but some things bug me about it. I've never heard of SPAD before your post, but I just looked it up and am going to give it a try! Being able to set my altimeter with it would be awesome.

Re: Autopilot / ILS
It worked! Thanks Keith and Mark. I think I'm ready to fly the LAX-LAS online.
I'm doing it with a glass panel (iPad w/ AirTrack) for now but am going to want to mix in some practice on gauges too.

That's pretty cool. What a great place to work on crosswind landings I'll have to make a trip up there this winter when work calms down.

Re: [Oct 4 1:30p PDT] SMO-LGB commercial demo
I think it's time for me to download some KSMO scenery. That airport is just one giant runway for me and the turnoffs are confusing!

Re: Autopilot / ILS
That must be it. I'm using the Saitek multipanel and am just leaving the NAV button on. There's another one that says APR. I did manage to step down and get the little glidepath diamond to show up, but couldn't figure out why it didn't intercept the glidepath. Setting it to approach mode sounds like...
