Re: X-plane GPS-Learned something interesting today
Another vote for the Reality XP 530W. It takes a trick or two to get it installed in XPX, another trick to get the database updated, and it doesn't work in 64-bit XPX....but it's the only solution I've found for "real world"-type flying in the sim. I've looked quite a bit, and haven't foun...

Nice Review in IFR Magazine
I received IFR in the mail yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised to see a 2-page review of Pilotedge. I wish I could attach a link, but this is primarily a dead-trees-type publication. The summary was that they really liked it, but hope for more traffic in the future. (I think we all agree with th...

Re: XP9: Carenado Cessna C208 Caravan released
I'm running XPX. The sound doesn't work at all for me, and it's pretty choppy on my souped-up system. Support disavows any assistance if you're running the newer version of X-Plane, so I'd stay away until XPX is stable and a patch is issued. (YMMV, of course).

Re: NEMA GPS device for IPAD
This sounds great. I assume it would work for WingX as well? I actually wrote the developers of that app to see if I could convince them to accept GPS-in data from something other than their current roster of devices, but didn't get an answer.

Re: No Answer on the Radio - system down?
Nothing's working here, and I've checked to see that the latest version of X-Plane didn't hose my key settings. I'm 2458M on the ground at MYF - could you send me a message to let me know you see me?

No Answer on the Radio - system down?
HI,
I'm on the ground at MYF trying to raise Clearance Delivery, Tower or SoCal Approach with no joy. I've also connected and reconnected - is there anything going on with the system now?
Thanks,
Tom

Re: New to the Malibu
I think I have Chandler's Pipers, but I haven't flown them yet. I've always been a fan of Carenado, but wonder if they're unable to cope with some of the inherent issues in XPlane (of which I'm generally a fan, btw). I was behind someone for t/o yesterday at PDK who sounded a bit like you on the rad...

Re: New to the Malibu
Keith, I generally fly the Carenado Beech Bonanza. It's twitchy in the longitudinal axis (hard to trim properly) and also displays the problem you noted - I often find myself holding the yoke over 30 degrees or more to maintain level flight, which is hard to do precisely without eyes on the instrume...
