Re: annoying disk 1......

for what it's worth, until just recently, many software titles required that you keep the cd in the computer just to play the game/run the software. alternatively, you can buy x-plane through steam, which will give you the ability to download directly, and then verifies your purchase over the intern...

Re: P3D v2.0 release imminent!

I really hope they officially start allowing/encouraging home use. If I was a P3D user, I would breathe a huge sigh of relief and say, "ok, it's staying and they're going to support it." From the P3D FAQ: Can Prepar3D be used at home? Prepar3D can be used in any location. Where you intend...

Re: P3D v2.0 release imminent!

$59.99 means you have to be actively learning while using P3D. So, take me, for example. Every time I fly using P3D, I learn something. Therefore, I will be purchasing the Academic License (I did for v1.4). I'm not going to debate the issue here (that dead horse has been beaten over and over elsewh...

Re: P3D v2.0 release imminent!

So - 59.99 means I have to be in school? or a student pilot?

199.99 for a standard home user? That just seems a little steep to me... but maybe I'm looking at it wrong...

Re: IPAD

FSXFlight appears to be able to leverage traffic support as well -- anybody reached out to them for a 'pilot-edge' discount? ;)

FSXFlight is up to 20.00... I'd be happy to buy if it were still 5.00

Re: VFR Departure from class Charlie?

Absolutely helpful information - So basically if its not published in a doc, or in the ATIS, call Clearance and they would redirect you if necessary.

Thanks!

VFR Departure from class Charlie?

I was in a real world scenario and had a question - I hope the answer is simple but wanted to hear what other pilots had to say... With a VFR departure out of class Charlie, when do I need to call Clearance/Delivery vs contacting ground for that information? Some AF/D's have clearance listed, but th...

Re: linux plugin is coming...

Sorry that this thread has been dormant for a while -- Right now I beleive the goal is to get a 64-bit plug-in out, but I'm not sure on the time frame for such a beast, and the other thing that we've been seeing lately is library conflicts on non-ubuntu installs - these aren't your regular every-day...

[Jan 27, 3p PST ] DEMO pattern @ KSMO

Hi Guys, Sorry for the short notice, I'm going to be doing a demo for a group at Raleigh Durham, and will be at KSMO for pattern work right at about 6:05, a couple laps there and then departing to long-beach IFR TEC. If anybody is planning to 'hop on' and wants to be at smo, that'd be great. Also --...
