Re: GPS Output for DCS

The reason I want it is just for added situational awareness. I've come to really like having the moving map. It, of course, is not a requirement. But I'm all for adding every bit of comfort I can. I did notice that a lot of the fighter guys that brought their warbirds to OSH this year did have eith...

GPS Output for DCS

I'm wondering if anyone has tackled this yet. I fly realworld with an ipad and foreflight. FSX/Prepar3d has the fsxflight program which transmits the plane's location in the sim to foreflight. Is this possible in DCS? Does anyone have the knowledge to do so?

So I bought a Citabria

I checked off a bucket list item, which is to buy an airplane. I found an immaculate 1968 Champion Citabria with the Lycoming O-235 (115HP) in Albany, NY. I documented the trip to bring her home on my youtube channel. Go check it out!

Re: Never again on PE - share your mistakes

wmburns, I was cleared as filed. When I got caught on the carpet, I was so flustered, I don't remember what he told me exactly without going back through the tapes. I just knew I messed up and was trying to pull up the ODP to understand where I went wrong. I am a PPL in real life with little IFR tim...

For sale subthread?

Keith and gang, I am scouring the internet for a few items to begin my instrument rating, and I have been on the facebook aviation items for sale pages. This led me to a thought. Being as we are, for the most part, a tight-knit group of aviation junkies, we may have some items that could help each o...

Re: Never again on PE - share your mistakes

I am curious about an error I made tonight. I filed KAVX SXC V21 KSLI. I departed runway 4 putting me near on top of SXC and V21. I read the ODP that stated RWY heading to 2300 then turn on course. I was at about 2400 as I crossed V21, so I decided to turn inbound on V21. The controller wasn't happy...

That is probably the best looking cockpit sim I've ever seen. Cheers!

Re: the must have payware a/c for PE?

Keith, I'll be honest. I flipped through the defaults very quickly and then chocked them up to being the same as FSX default aircraft- a good start but not intended for a network as intricate as PE. I will be giving the default B58 another shot. If you can pry me out of the J32 :-D
