Re: Cant hear myself on 123.45 (Com 1 and 2)

I seem to have a similar problem to others on this board. X-Plane 11.5, new install with Torquesim SR22. First I tried the 123.45/com1/com2 test and got a mixture of radio hiss and a sort of resonant feedback, a very unpleasant noise, on pressing the PTT. Tried changing the PTT, no difference. Tried...

Controllers and emergencies

Keith, just a word of commendation for one of your controllers. I set up the KSNA CSTN1 KBUR and approaches flight to try out some equipment failure procedures, principally failing the glideslope and some of the cockpit GPS programming kit, today between 1800Z and 2000Z. The controller was calmness ...

Re: XP10 Scenery?

Thank you very much for that. An astonishingly large collection! Do you recommend any payware? I may as well get it all installed while I am organised for it, and before I get back on the airwaves...

XP10 Scenery?

I have been away for a few months, first getting my rating and then ill, so I am a bit rusty and hope I have the right forum. If not I would be grateful if you would just point me at the right place. I have to convert from FSX on PE to X-Plane 10, to keep up my currency. I have great scenery on FSX,...

Pilot Edge helps me through rating.

I thought that you might be interested to know that I completed my instrument rating in the last week. Using pilot edge in the previous month or so made it significantly easier, since radio management was one less thing that I had to acclimatise to in the real aircraft. Thanks. I will be a frequent ...

Re: CloudAhoy debrief of my I-6 flight

Gavin

What software setup is needed to make the GPSSimCable work with Foreflight? Does FSUIPC need to be configured in some particular way?

Re: CloudAhoy debrief of my I-6 flight

Terrific, I have just ordered myself a GPSSimcable, I would have done so before if I had realised it would work with Foreflight! Regrettably we cannot get a copy of CloudAhoy in Britain, but I will see if I can get that changed. I am going to Florida in a few weeks to do an FAA IFR, so I might have ...

Re: Localizer Approaches

Fascinating discussion. I was taught the "chop and drop" method many years ago, and did not think of a stabilised approach. Anyway, I experimented with my little Cessna 172SP on KSAN, and found that the easiest for me was 1. Stabilise a level flight entry into the procedure at 90KIAS, all ...
