Re: Let's talk about the PilotEdge Expansion!

The FAA will be requiring each aircraft to have ADS-B In-and-Out to fly in the new coverage areas. https://curq6g.by3301.livefilestore.com/y3msfA67Mr-Cmd0wKXHeGkinAxWsdb_1HtvWjQdSQkXPp_kcaNjAd7UNVG-uK55AdOMymSmunZsFahDy8BsT3T8nepctbV-CFfm-pghsVMHPVIGuwA-s795JyLp0iKMfm9HB0XnNxksdzOWDVDYJPVMTa7AMG0OXy...

Re: Great Afternoon Skies

I have to admit that I'm attracted to traffic volume and IMC like a moth to a flame. I jumped on twice yesterday mainly because I wanted to be in the fray with 20+ other planes to enjoy the chaos. The longer I had to wait for my clearance, the more I enjoyed how busy it was. I intentionally chose a ...

Re: Is anyone crashing like me?

Thanks for the suggestions! I initially had the old PE plug-ins installed alongside the new but removed them afterwards. I'll upgrade the Saitek panels and check out the other suggestions. Appreciate the help!

Re: Is anyone crashing like me?

Of course, thank you. I had looked at the log file and didn't see anything obvious and was just wondering if I was the only one having such issues. Below is the log.txt content if you can see anything I didn't notice (it wouldn't let me upload a txt file for some reason). GPU: GeForce GTX 670 (337.8...

Is anyone crashing like me?

I recklessly updated my only copy of X-Plane to the 10.30 beta because I was so excited about the functional 430/530, and now I'm crashing to desktop and even blue-screening before I can complete a flight. I also have multiple monitors and I've had trouble with other games so I'm wondering if it's m...

Re: Crosswind landings – running out of rudder Carenado's Mo

Interesting info, Keith! I'll have to play with that as I have almost every Carenado plane. A note on max demonstrated crosswind. IMO that is mostly there to protect the manufacturer from getting sued when someone unqualified tries to set her down in a 30-knot crosswind. Max demonstrated is the max ...

You know you've been spending too much time on PE when...

...the Starbucks drive-thru barista instructs you to pull around and you respond, "Wilco."

Yep, I just did that.

Re: Question about IFR routing

Perhaps because there is no way to navigate from a fix to the airport in case of nordo and you can't assume GPS availability in routings? So you just file that route and then request or receive vectors when approaching the terminal area.

Re: IFR clearences.. how do I know wich ones will be complic

I recommend picking up some communications cards such as these from Sporty's: http://www.sportys.com/PilotShop/product/9382 They're $3.95 for a pad that will last you 50 flights. I use them every time I fly on PE (and in the real world). My preflight prep includes filling out all of the form fields ...

Re: Never again on PE - share your mistakes

This is how people in the real world die: I have just more than 100 hours of real-world flight time and I'm currently working on my instrument rating. I have 80 hours on PE and countless more in PC sims over the years. So I'm not the most experienced pilot but it's not my first rodeo, either. Today ...
