Re: [January 24th 08:00pm PST] Westcoast fly-in: KIFP to KLA

This looks like a fun and challenging flight fellas. Wish I could join you but I can't this week. Just wanted you to know these Thursday night group flights are a great idea. Not sure if PE supports this or not, but consider using frequency 123.45 on COMM2 while flying so you can chat with each othe...

Re: V-2 - First Practice Flight - what an experience ...

Congratulations and well done! Sounds like you were well practiced and ready. If I may, consider taking your time and flying a number of VFR flights with PE before specifically practicing for the V-3 exam. Instead, practice cross country flights without transitioning class B but that require you to ...

Re: VFR Departure From KVNY And Dealing With KBUR Class C

Yep, I climbed above 3000' while with KVNY Tower and had reached 4100' when I contacted departure. Reporting myself to the FAA. Is this the correct procedure? Lol  So if I had stayed at or below 3000' with tower, then upon contacting departure and establishing radio communications with departu...

VFR Departure From KVNY And Dealing With KBUR Class C

So yesterday I flew VFR out of KVNY and it was properly noted by your most knowledgeable ATC controller that I had busted KBUR's class C airspace. Shortly after departure from KVNY the tower controller handed me off to the departure controller. While with the departure controller I climbed above 300...

Re: some nice feedback...

Just a little kudos to PilotEdge and its professional controllers. Thank you all and the community for the courtesy to let us make mistakes, correct us politely when we do, and remain patient as we learn. In less than 2 months with PilotEdge I now have the confidence to return to real world flight t...

Re: My first flight without GPS (just sharing)

For all you IFR pilots out there, try more VFR. It's a hoot and more challenging than one might think when you do it by the book, with real weather, and without GPS. Cyrus, thank you for sharing your experience and questions. Your post has helped me learn more about VFR navigation and ATC procedures.

Re: Caution wake turbulence

In its investigation report on the Piper Chieftain APEX 511 crash at CYVR, the TSBC noted the findings from the NASA tests on your YouTube links Keith, and stated: "NASA conducted a series of flight tests to investigate the vortex wake characteristics behind a Boeing 727-200 during instrument l...
