Re: amazing aerial footage

The question is: how much of that footage is real and how much is CGI (computer generated imagery)?

Re: I would appreciate Pilot Edge support for this simulator

This is awesome!

I just made my first successful touchdown on Chicago Meigs.

Pretty cool!

Re: New Computer Build

Hi all, I just bought the same GPU (GTX780 ti) and CPU (i7-4770K) but with only 8GB. Running Win 8.1 and x-plane.

I would like to learn from other people's X-plane graphic settings. Which settings do you feel work best with this rig?

thanks,

Re: Help configuring PilotView + TrackIR

Hi Reece, I just installed the pilotview today and to my surprise (and as far as I can see) it actually works great; a lot better than native trackIr. It seems to track well, I like the 6 DOF a lot and it just feels more natural.

Cheers,

Re: Help configuring PilotView + TrackIR

OK thanks. One thing that annoys me is that with the native XP support my head position is always moving down considerably when I tilt my head forward. That's not natural at all.

I'll try the plugin and will see if it's any better.

Re: Help configuring PilotView + TrackIR

Hi Reece, a long time ago I also used the Pilotview plugin from Sandy Barbour but since a long time (I believe since XP9) I've been using the native XP trackIR functionality. It's not perfect but it does the job. So I'm just curious, does the Pilotview plugin really work better than the native XP fu...

Re: Opinions On SkyMaxx Pro?

I also stumbled upon Skymaxx pro a few days ago and decided to buy it. I haven't flown a lot with it yet but I really like what I've seen so far. It sure looks pretty and it gives you a more "immersed" feeling. I can confirm that it doesn't seem to have a negative impact on fps when you us...

Re: X-Plane 10 fresh install (a.k.a. convert from FS9)

I also totally agree with Keith. I tried to set up my configuration in FSX with more than four USB devices (yoke, rudder, throttle, carb heat etc). What a nightmare! I never was able to set it up correctly. Compare that with X-Plane. Granted, there are a lot of configuration options but those option...

Re: X-Plane 10 fresh install (a.k.a. convert from FS9)

Hi Cyrus, actually, you*can* use the AP in stock 172 in x-planev10 with altitude target and vertical speed target. The only problem is that the stock cockpit layout just doesn't have the controls to set those values. But, if you use a Saitek autopilot stack, you can easily set those values and the A...
