Re: KSBA

Hi Tyler, you’ll be happy to know that these procedures are already in effect in our SOP due to latest guidance provided by the FAA. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Old Dog - New Tricks?

Hey everyone! It's been a few years since I've been on the network, but the recent SimVenture YouTube videos pulled me back in to check on PE. Maybe I should dust off the old flight gear in enough time to get the new version of FS from Microsoft. My XPlane license is still current and I'd likely fl...

Re: Connecting Foreflight to P3D - Differences in Options?

Hi all, unearthing this 4 year old thread for a related question. I'm dealing with a machine running P3D v1 (it's an FMX AATD). I see that I can use GpsVR as well, but after reading this thread it appeared as though FSXFlight was the best option in order to see network traffic as well. When I go to ...

Re: Realistic Sounding ATC...Reviving old topic

OK I figured out how to filter incoming ATC audio to make it sound reasonably real, and also provide adjustable microphone side tone, with a few free "minimal" versions of tools. If anyone is interested post back and I will write it up. I think I could also filter the microphone audio but...

Re: some nice feedback...

I've found a few mentions on the forum that making a quick "SoCal Approach, Skyhawk x1234 is 5 miles south of El Monte" call is a good heads up, is that the proper/polite way to resolve? Absolutely. I’ve had this happen to me IRL and resolved it exactly as you mention. Part of my PIC resp...

Re: Takeoff Clearance (extra information)

I've always heard "wind's". The apostrophe is very loud in my ears. ' That’s very likely- a lot of people say it incorrectly. So true is the incorrect usage of “gusting” as opposed to what is correct, “gusts.” Used to take off points during performance evaluations at OKC when using such p...

Re: How to do it better?

Speaking for how I understand the procedure to be, you would simply receive a SW/W departure, and immediately after radar ID handed to SoCal who will work you as required into the Coliseum Route. It was an error that we resolved once within TRACON airspace. BUR would know about it.

Important Training Pastries

It has come to my attention that a couple of pilots may be missing out on an important aspect of their training.... ...Ok, well, maybe this post doesn't actually have anything to do with flying...but... To the pilot that I worked last evening who hadn't heard of a (tries not to gasp) gannoli (or &qu...

Re: A flight through NYC!

...it looks so awkward to be flying so low and close to Manhattan like that. It must be a little butt clenching to punch through there right? Speaking only for myself, it's rather routine technically but as Keith said always awe inspiring. EWR ATCT most usually grants me permission to do 360-degree...
