Re: VFR procedures for western expansion airports
As always, Keith, thank you for the detailed and well thought out reply!! Yes, I was around 5 years ago and had to put the flight-sim hobby on hold. VR has brought it all back for me, and I'm having a blast again.. wondering why I ever left. But I gotta tell you.. without PilotEdge this whole thing ...

VFR procedures for western expansion airports
I asked this on Facebook but didn't get much clarity.. hoping to get the expert's take on this. I fly mostly out of SLC.. and it seems like no matter what departure direction I'm headed, I get exactly the same transition every time. (In fact, 80% of the time, it's the wrong transition, and not what ...

Re: Auto Pilot - Fly Closed Traffic
First, welcome.. I think you'll find the community here split between FSX and X-Plane. They both have their pros and cons. If you're struggling with the plane feeling too sensitive, you might pull up the settings for the Controls and turn down the sensitivity of the different axis. This will help a ...

The "Class C Loophole" - Use it or no?
A while back, I mentioned something in the context of another thread (http://forums.pilotedge.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3280) where I was happy to get a pointer from a controller on a particular topic.... I want to re-visit that topic briefly. Here's what I said: Yesterday I was flying towards KSM...

Re: Question on tolerances for flying airways, SIDs, STARs,
This is very interesting and I appreciate the data... The fact that the airway extends 4 miles to the left and right of the line is the information I was after.... that means I'm WELL within tolerance if I'm flying a half mile off... and I feel a lot better about that. I DO strive for precision... b...

Question on tolerances for flying airways, SIDs, STARs, etc.
Just a quick question on the tolerances allowed by the FAA and the controllers when flying a particular airway, SID, STAR, etc... I've traditionally been holding my finger right on the heading button in a attempt to engage it 1.0 to 0.5 miles away from the turn, to keep the plane precisely on course...

An Observation: Big learning curve between I4 and I5
Not a critique or a complaint... just something I noticed as an X-Plane user....... I've been muddling through the ratings.. Keith has done a really nice job at presenting enough information to make it interesting during the ratings. Still making you do a little brain-work to get through them rather...

Re: Transponder ALT mode issue
Another interesting issue with the Carenado Baron 58 model.... When the transponder is turned "off", the PE controllers report that it is in a "constant state of ident". (I've had this happen multiple times). No big deal, you flip it on, and set everything properly, and the issue...
