Re: The "Day in the Life Challenge"

Bonus idea?

Run SmartCopilot and have a "person" in the right seat in case you run long or have a bio emergency.

- Can someone post some text for typical cabin announcements or a link to those?

I got cold sweats just reading Peter's post...

Re: WUS Expansion scenery

SOCAL is stand alone. If you don't push your settings too far your frame rate should be quite acceptable. In my case I use low or no autogen. Having said that I thoroughly recommend Global and to a lesser extent Vector. My recent experiences in Western Expansion have shown me very acceptable scener...

Re: EVGA GTX 1050Ti SC for $149.99 at Amazon

Finished my install before seeing the post from dvlourie - I did the driver update first, powered down, removed old card and inserted new. Reboot and zero issues. Getting 30 FPS at KLAX in the IXEG 733 Classic with rendering preset "high" and weather set for CATII minimums. Took off flew t...

Re: KDEN runway assignments

I've flown in there about 6 times in the last two years and it's basically the same each time: 1. Departures on the west N/S runways (34's shorter taxi times, less time on the tarmac) 2. Arrivals on the east N/S runways farthest from the terminal (35's - exits are closest to terminal, plus allows fo...

Re: Western Expansion ATC coverage of satellite fields?

Happy to report that this has taken place. The web site content has been updated to reflect the fact that you will now get IFR clearances on the ground and you'll be able to receive an approach clearance at the destination. This is insane! I'm beside myself with happiness! I can start from an untow...

I'll do it for sure. I'm going to take some time today and pull some FPS readouts with XP settings for before/after.

Re: EVGA GTX 1050Ti SC for $149.99 at Amazon

Just got a shipping update: it will be here next week, much earlier than I thought. Looks like it's time to disassemble the sim and rebuild it. Maybe clean out some of the nooks and crannies. I really am kind of giddy here - I've never had a video card with more than 1GB of VRAM so this is like Chri...

EVGA GTX 1050Ti SC for $149.99 at Amazon

I just snagged the GTX 1050Ti SC from EVGA for a cheap (?) $150 from Amazon, upgrading from a great GT640 in my current box. Going from 1GB VRAM to 4GB I hope is a game changer on X-Plane and will allow me to (finally) increase the cloud cover from 10% up to something more realistic. The card only d...
