That was a lot of fun. Great getting to hang out with everyone. At first I wasn't sure if being fixed wing was going to work well, but with a good mix of both it ended up working out very nicely.

Ha, nice, Nigel! The threat of a bird strike always keeps you on your toes in X-Plane...I just wished there was a way to turn the darn deer off. Birds are one thing, but it is a little annoying when deer seem to run out onto the runway on EVERY takeoff run!

I find it nearly impossible to see other traffic using FSX/P3D. I have a button on my yolk set up to cheat and toggle aircraft labels when I get a traffic callout when I'm using P3D. Otherwise there is very little hope of spotting them outside of a mile or so. X-plane does a MUCH better job with dis...

Bird strikes are actually a item in the failure settings now. I had one last night departing CRQ. Totally unexpected. Unfortunately, I didn't handle it nearly as smoothly as Chris in his video. But, at lease I made it back, and with enough energy to roll to the tower.

So that first leg doesn't take you inbound to MZB. The DP from KSDM actually gets you to MZB...
