Re: Feedback on visual approaches with IFR flight
Thank you Kevin, very helpful!
If I can bother you for one more though. Runway 19R is listed as right traffic and I get that is because of runway 19L. But in looking up real world examples almost all of them I found were left traffic into 19R. That makes sense as well as a right pattern takeoff ...

Re: Feedback on visual approaches with IFR flight
Correct, overfly the numbers of 26L/R and then base abeam the stratosphere. You can begin the turn abeam. If they didn’t want you to pass it, they would say something like “keep your base turn inside the stratosphere.”

Re: Feedback on visual approaches with IFR flight
In the absence of any instructions, a visual approach clearance allows you to do everything except climb in order to get to the runway. I’m almost certain the controller meant for you to make left traffic, but if you were still well west of the airport at the time of your clearance, I could see how ...

Re: New User - Question after first few flights
Hey BK, welcome to PE.
As you’ve figured out, yes- the repeaters are a feature that help increase the amount of radio chatter and avoid pilots stepping on each other. But it’s actually not as unrealistic as you think. Frequency coupling happens in the real world often, and nearly every single ...

Re: Bose A20 vs Logitech G Pro X
Real world headsets are way overkill for a sim. Honestly, you’d be perfectly fine with a cheap $30 headset from Walmart or Amazon. That’s likely to give you less trouble, anyways.
The push to talk is mapped through PilotEdge.

Re: SimVenture Oshkosh 2022
Don’t lose hope!
On the other hand, it’s never too late to transition into the more popular sim platforms! Plenty of time to get aquatinted with them before July.

Re: Internet Availability
PilotEdge requires a stable internet connection (one without any intermittent hiccups). Speed typically isn’t much of a concern. May be worth coming back for just a month to troubleshoot with your current options.

Re: Seeking feedback on VFR flight following
Hi. sorry if wrong place to ask. Been looking thru the forums and discord chats. I did all the CAT, and most of the IFR ratings. But didnt' see one which did the SFRA. e.g. In want to to from KSNA to KBUR. I would get FF out of KSNA but then sounds like have to switch to 1201 for the SFRA to SMO ...
