Re: CAT-1/CAT-2: ForeFlight Airport Error
Props to ForeFlight Support. Since raising the disappearance of this airport a couple of days ago, it has restored New Cuyama (L88) to its database.

Re: CAT-1: ForeFlight Airport Error
The FAA shows L88 currently closed . . . https://pilotweb.nas.faa.gov/PilotWeb/notamRetrievalByICAOAction.do?method=displayByICAOs&reportType=RAW&formatType=DOMESTIC&actionType=notamRetrievalByICAOs&retrieveLocId=L88 Yes, that NOTAM says that it will be closed Dec. 20 through Jan. 1...

Re: CSL Questions
Hello again! SimCoders/Javier Rollon are actively working on making the SIAI-Marchetti SF260 available to networks like IVAO and VATSIM and, presumably, PilotEdge. Indeed, they have started an X-Plane forum thread, pinned, about exactly that. The thread currently runs two pages - SF260 CSL for use i...

Re: CSL Questions
Hi Keith,
It looks like SimCoders has already created a CSL model, which can be downloaded for use with IVAO. See the right side of this SimCoders page on the plane: https://www.simcoders.com/reality-expan ... tti-sf260/

Re: CAT-1: ForeFlight Airport Error
New Cuyama Airport closed down in 2015. That may explain this, although it reopened in 2016 which means that ForeFlight has had a couple of years to fix this. Makes me wonder whether it's just a screwup and, if so, how many other airports have gone missing on ForeFlight :) The airport reopened due t...

Re: CSL Questions
CSL stands for Custom/Common Shape Library (I don't recall which). Since there isn't a specific model in the available CSLs which directly represents the F260 ICAO code, the system goes through the following process: 1) it looks through the related.txt file that is included with the plugin to see i...

CAT-1/CAT-2: Airport Error/Utility of Flight Simulation
UPDATE January 5, 2019 : ForeFlight has restored New Cuyama (L88) to its database. Post #9 raises a distinct question about the utility of flight simulation generally. Don't go looking for New Cuyama Airport (L88) in the current 10.6 version of ForeFlight. It isn't there. ForeFlight Support tells m...

Re: CSL Questions
Hi Kevin, I think that I may have been unclear in my question. I use SimCoders's/Javier Rollon's virtual SIAI-Marchetti SF260D. This plane is recent and is understandably not modelled for PilotEdge. Does this mean that other participants will see a disconnect between what I say in a PilotEdge transm...

Re: RelityXP GTN 750
I run X-Plane on Mac OS and therefore was unable to purchase a RealityXP product. Initially disappointed, I now think that this was a blessing in disguise. I happily have ForeFlight set up to receive GPS data from X-Plane, which is current because I'm using X-Plane default GPS with a Navigraph GPS s...

Re: CAT-1: Question about Mountain Passes & Flight Following
The question occurred to me in the context of the CAT-1 exercise and I explained my approach to that exercise as context. I asked this as a general question, thinking that there might be some people from out west, or from elsewhere but using this service, who would know the answer. If one flies gene...
