Re: Question for ORBX users

If you combine Global, Vector and OpenLC, you will have a very good rendition of north america, but I still think that the regions are better. That being said, OpenLC seems to do a good job in bringing more diversity and realism to the scenery. Orbx has a sale running atm., so you could get one reg...

Re: Question for ORBX users

The regions add quite a bit of authenticity. Global and Vector are general improvements without focussing too much on regional characteristics. The regions on the other hand offer hand placed textures, landclass, autogen, landmarks etc., so the recognition value is much higher. Also, regions come w...

Question for ORBX users

I have Global Base, Vector, and NA LC. Can someone comment on their experience with adding regions? With the new expansion, I am seriously considering adding the NCA, PNW, and perhaps SRM regions which are now on sale. Thoughts? I have SoCal but honestly don't know if the area looks much better with...

Re: Western US Expansion Launch: Dec 27

The bonus field during the first two weeks of operation will be KABQ. So, for example, I can take off in my Skylane from E80 and pretty much immediately call up Albuquerque APP and ask for advisories to KABQ? On the PE network, how far out can we be from the expansion fields and still get in touch ...

Re: Where to park?

That's a good question. I'm am curious to see what the experts say :)

At the two towered fields near where I live there is no parking whatsoever near the tower. All of the folks I know there who fly regularly park as close as possible to the FBO's/schools they are associated with.

Re: Western US Expansion Launch: Dec 27

In an average month (no holidays etc.), I can probably fly 4-8 hours total, so PE costs me about $2.50-5.00 without, and about $4.40-8.75 with the expansion per hour. That's still cheaper than going to the movies or having dinner with my wife. And if you think about all the money that we spend on f...

Re: Western US Expansion Launch: Dec 27

As someone who's currently only flying piston aircraft - and still learning with those - I didn't think this would really be worth my attention. And then I read the Hidden Gem section. And that looks pretty damn interesting. I was thinking about this and hoping the low and slow crowd would be able ...
