Re: Talking to SOCAL without flight following
So I'm descending to levels unknown to SOCAL, on unpredicable tracks, through the John Wayne Charlie, and possibly/probably various Delta's, I'm thinking to myself, surely it doesn't work like this in real life? I can't speak for SOCAL airspace which is quite a bit busier than where I fly, but I've...

Re: RW IFR rating subforum
I initially read your post as talking about a subforum for the Real World IFR video series - which exists: http://forums.pilotedge.net/viewforum.php?f=47 But after actually comprehending your post, I see you mean a subforum for flight training. Might be fun, not sure how much traffic it would get. T...

Tower should be providing separation in the pattern at KSNA. Did you let ATC know you were having trouble?

If I recall, the HD mesh adds those. They weren't there in default X-Plane generation.

Re: [Oct 2: 1830-2030 PDT] Birthday Bash!
Well, this was a sad night for me. I've been out of the sim for a few months now for various reasons. Fully intended to jump in tonight.... Then Brighthouse has a complete outage. From what I could gather, all Brighthouse customers were affected. And then, on top of that, I've been feeling under the...

Re: Out of Mini-Route and Over SMO direct to Burbank
As a pilot, you really don't know who has responsibility for what airspace. Your best course of action is labeled on the chart: CTC SOCAL APP WITHIN 20 NM ON 124.6 There are potentially a lot of planes flying into Burbank (and in that area in general). Approach may need to sequence you quite a bit b...

Re: L92 FBO For Sale
I ended up having to tear it down before it got too far behind on supplies. Still have 14400kg of building materials, 4600kg of 100LL, and 12900kg of JetA available. I'll sell it all for $50,000.

Re: Arriving into KHND
Class D airports often do not have any sort of radar - they just look out the window and see you. The TRACON controller was no longer controlling you, tower didn't have radar so you were no longer under radar service. As for the pattern entry instructions, he just wanted you flying a right hand patt...

Re: Video card--small bump on a budget?
Initial thought is that saving up and upgrading CPU/Motherboard will be better. Not sure you'll get much from a video card upgrade when the CPU is still a Core2.
