I've never had any issues with the XP UI, it's actually pretty easy and intuitive for me... But then again, I've never bothered with trying to set up ESP with FSUIPC, EZDok, REX, ActiveSky, Orbx, and whatever else people are using. Best part? No tweaking dll files
