Transmitting on Com1 or Com2 in Xplane 11 works ok?
So I was watching the I-1 rating video that Keith did some time back (2016). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzWMFuK_9mM He mentions an issue in xplane 10 - that in if you wish to switch the box you are transmitting on using the airplane intercom buttons that does not switch correctly as it should. ...

Re: VFR descents while in receipt of flight following
I mean no disrespect. What is confusing about an answer which says tell the controller you are making a vfr descent if he is not busy is that you would think he want to know more if he was busy with lots of traffic near you to draw attention to your descent? If there is no one around why would he ca...

VFR descents while in receipt of flight following
Flying a VFR route from a to b in receipt of flight following.
You have reached the point to commence descent for your destination - do ATC welcome you advising them you are starting a vfr decent or is this annoying use of frequency bandwidth to them of no value ?

As no one replied I will assume the reduced form is indeed perfectly fit for purpose.

Re: CAT 9 example ATC - misprint ?
Thank you Scott. So the only issue is one of consistency in the same phase of flight.
By the way if they can be called either approach or departure, and it doesnt matter which, why bother with either ?
e.g Just call up "Socal" !!

CAT 9 example ATC - misprint ?

CAT 7 - why explicit class c transition request
So I understood that to fly into or though class c you just need to be two way comms with the controlling agency. In the CAT 7 you are asked to fly though a Class C on your way to a class D beyond the other side. My question is that in the communications example on this page https://www.pilotedge.ne...

How do controllers multitask on PE
So ever since the trial and even since becoming a paid member I dont understand how they do this.
One person covering Centre, Approach, Tower, Ground, various airports at the same time and it pretty much is flawless.
How do they do this ? I can barely keep up on one channel..!

CAT 4 rating - leaving class D
So I completed the rating. I am wanting to better understand USA ATC. Quick question - when you leave the class D of SAN luis on your way to Santa Maria - the PE notes page just says you can change frequences. In the UK we would report leaving the zone to the controller (or the controller might say ...
