Re: Flying into KLSV

No worries. The T-6 goes to civvy fields a lot on XC's, and at those fields, it's business as usual, just like any other civilian turboprop for the most part. So, it's a good skill to have. Each base has unique procedures for locally-based aircraft. The comms are totally specific to the base. Case i...

Re: Flying into KLSV

Hi Aleks, Unlike the civlian bases, we don't have detailed procedures for the military fields in ZLA. We added rudiementary support for LSV almost entirely for beta testing with DCS when they added the NTTR airspace. The VFR arrival experience at LSV on PE might be quite different than IRL, we just ...

Re: Reporting airport in sight on visual approach

I agree with Kevin. Knowing your sim's limitations (which are odd, btw, because I fly visuals all day long in XP11 without issue using a 1440p display), just request an instrument approach from the outset.

Re: Suggestions to beef up the Focus Fields Program

They're all great suggestions, however, it requires substantial code changes to the site. More to the point, the Focus Field program was designed when it was helpful to concentrate traffic on an otherwise very quiet network. That is no longer the case and we are routinely very busy indeed. If this p...

Re: What a great training program

I'm glad you enjoyed the program. You might enjoy the Sky HIgh Charters program next :) Thanks for the feedback, too. I'll take a minute to respond to some of the suggestions: 1) SBP was chosen as the arrival field for the CAT-2 because of the simplicity of the airspace. CMA is a triple concentric D...

Re: Intercept Airway or hold course? - I2 failure

Outstanding. You're not alone in this, btw....a flight instructor at a commercial customer did something similar a few weeks ago, turning direct to a waypoint for which he was expecting radar vectors. ATC prompted him that he shouldn't have turned and he disagreed (in a fairly direct manner). The op...

Re: Intercept Airway or hold course? - I2 failure

Take a look at the LAX TAC. Notice Signal Peak just NE of V23, at 1180ft MSL? Imagine departing from SNA and climbing at 200ft/nm (the typical minimum climb gradient required). That would be QUITE a view of Signal Peak. The MEA for V23 is 4000 if you're heading SE bound. As Kevin said, your clearanc...

Re: IFR vs VFR on PE

Reporting issues to ops or support seems not to work all the time. I had one related to Flight Following, reported via eMail ops as of 28.02.2021 03:28 UTC which has not been answered yet. If memory serves, PE support has been better in the past than nowadays. Friedhelm We are up to support ticket ...

Re: Is traffic at airports AI in PilotEdge?

There aren't any drones which appear on final, or disappear after takeoff. Every drone is recorded (by hand) as an end to end flight.
