Personally I start with this... http://myflightroute.com/craft.php?start=KDEN&end=
Along with the obvious of pulling the METAR I also look at the Live map and see what is happening.

Re: Flying in the Expanded Region Question
Keith I have been watching the issue unfold and I have to say opening up to the point your talking is going to be a really awesome enhancement. It literally opens up the entire area for all types of flights. I suppose the more difficult part is for all pilots to fully understand the difference, perh...

Re: Approaches into KABQ with Outdated XPlane GPS data
Perhaps Peter can clarify if it is LEGAL to shoot an ILS with GPS required if your GPS database is out of date. Re: Western Expansion Drones?
One can only hope that this continues to scale up... There is a limited available user base therefore a limited business model to support continued growth but we can only hope the field of dreams concept of "build it and they will come" works in this case. For now we have a serious amount ...

Re: Western US Expansion Launch: Dec 27
Not every service is meant for every customer. I am a mere pixel pilot, my personal attraction to PE was and is the fidelity to real world as I personally like the challenge and the binary understanding from correct and not correct. That is the value to this guy...expansion allows me to broaden that...

Re: Kudos to my controllers last night!
XPlane in general can be a little clunky when starting out, here is a good vid to get you properly setup:

Re: GPS issues in June in Socal
Just to be fair it was more of a tongue in cheek comment....yes PE can do failures but only for certain Aircraft and systems and certainly only when the pilot is in on it.

Re: GPS issues in June in Socal
Got that msg on my ForeFlight, maybe the best way to model it is to have PE fail any GPS or live map integration...
It might make for some interesting PE recordings with all the lost pilots j/k
