Re: Who's planning on being part of SimVenture 2020?

I plan to fly it two of the four days... the first in a 172 and if that goes well I’ll try doing it in a DHC1 Chipmunk... not so easy to land the Chipmunk on a “Dot” but I owned a Chipmunk almost 50 years ago and I’ve got to give it a try.

Re: I-11 VCV VOR/DME RWY 17 NOTAM'ed NA

Jefferson County Intl (0S9) is the destination for Leg #9 on the Washington Alphabet Challenge. It’s only runway (9/27) is closed by NOTAM until June 14, 2020. Does that mean we cannot fly into that airport until then?… THX

Visual approach KSBA

Hi guys, The other day I was approaching Santa Barbara from the southeast and was cleared for the visual approach to 15R. When the tower gave me landing clearance I asked if they wanted me to make right or left traffic... the controller told me to enter a right downwind to 15R, which required me to ...

Re: Waypoint coordinates

Thx Keith, that makes sense… I’m going to try to reconcile the Foreflight and GTN notations so that I can create user waypoints that are more accurate (for those fixes that are missing from the GTN database). In the practice approach I flew, the geo-referenced plate showed a deviation from the final...

Waypoint coordinates

I saw a number of posts about GPS coordinates but none applies to my question, so here goes... I was doing a practice flight that included the RNAV-B approach into KEMT and noticed that the waypoints on final on ForeFlight are not the same as in the GTN 750 database, which is updated to the latest a...

Re: San Diego VFR Corridor

Thx Scott, I agree with you... I was just wondering if having flight following might simplify the NRS airspace transition going in and out of Brown Field via the VFR corridor.
