Re: West coast timezone fly in?

Yes! Yes! Yes!

I'm on the east coast, but my flight/PE time is typically from 9:30pm to about 1am EST (I gotta get *some* sleep!). That's 630pm to 10pm PST. Is this the kind of time you're looking for? If so, count me in. 8-)

Re: Workshop: VFR Planning and Comms [Jan 1 7pm PST]

It sounds like more a case of luck // and generousity // that these get recorded, rather than as a standard practice. I know it would be more ideal if everyone just joined live, but that simply isn't always possible. So if it's not too much bother, it would be truly fantastic for everyone if they co...

Re: Workshop: VFR Planning and Comms [Jan 1 7pm PST]

Just finished watching the first one. Very informative/enjoyable indeed. 3 hrs well spent.

Wasn't able to join the second workshop either, so I'm looking forward to watching it when posted.

Thanks!

Re: VFR Flight Following and Class Charlie

@Nick, thanks. Yeah, that was definitely definitely a VFR flight judging from the PEAWARE map  I'll bet you had a lovely view of the Hollywood sign. And lucky you were high enough not to nick the top of the Griffith Observatory -lol. I'll put listening to your call (and following it along the r...

Re: FS2004 vs FSX (or even XP10)

Update... for anyone who was thinking about doing the same.... I downloaded the XP10 demo yesterday and gave it whirl... I was impressed with the cockpits, the clouds, the dynamic lighting, and the true 3D ground objects (especially the cars on the real roads) - basically, the eye candy - however, I...

Re: FS2004 vs FSX (or even XP10)

Thanks Keith. Yeah, I actually watched that video yesterday (been trying to absorb everything the internet has to offer re: PE in last few days :D ). And, in fact, just I said to myself "wow. look at the rays from those clouds" you said "wow. look at those clouds" (or similar). M...

Re: FS2004 vs FSX (or even XP10)

I should add that FSX: Gold Edition is only $27 on Amazon (with my free Prime shipping), so it's not that big a deal. Just wondered if it's really worth the hassle.....

FS2004 vs FSX (or even XP10)

Relatively new here. I'm flying with FS9 (2004) and no add-ons. I'm barely looking out the window these days, being most interested in the instruments and trying to pay attention to the radio. Looking for the fields, mountains, and coast. Not much else needed, even VFR (especially as I have Foreflig...

VFR Flight Following and Class Charlie

Hi all. New to PE, but loving every second of it. Just about 10 hrs in a C152 around 15 yrs ago, and been using MSFS since early 90's ("moderate" sim level I'd say, although learning fast here on PE!). So I was wondering how PE feels about VFR Flight Following? I'm thinking figure it will ...
