Thanks for doing such a fantastic piece of work with your V-03 tutorial videos. They have addressed pretty much all of the questions I had about this rating and I feel much more confident to give it a go now.
Regards
Steve

Re: My first real life equipment failure
Thankful - these were exactly my thoughts as I imagined the scenario of a defunct tyre hitting the runway at circa 75 knots. The taxi way is quite narrow and definitely not sufficient to turn around without going on the grass, A number of aircraft had to do exactly what you describe, back taxi down ...

My first real life equipment failure
So there I was in the trusty PA28, all power checks completed and with clearance to taxi on to the runway. Brake off, throttle forward a touch. Nothing! More throttle - still nothing! Brake on, brake off, yet more throttle - and still no forward motion whatsoever. The instructor and I look at each i...

Re: Missing or misplaced taxiway at KSNA
The explanations become more and more convoluted. Much easier to believe in aliens

Re: Missing or misplaced taxiway at KSNA
Interesting experience - sounds like either some drones that have been taken over by aliens or teenage intruders out for a jolly. During my V-02 he told me that I would pass so long as I could land without crashing - consequently everything I knew about flying a traffic pattern immediately disappear...

Re: Missing or misplaced taxiway at KSNA
As it happens I was a witness to your problems with the taxiways at KSNA during your V-01 and have some sympathy. The same problem exists in X-Plane where you are at the mercy of whoever built the particular airport scenery you happen to be using. Usually it's correct, but not always. Therefore wise...

Re: KVNY landing - who to call first?
[quote]Btw, all this thinking that you're doing right now....this is the exact point of the V-3 It's not just about tracking the radials in the Bravo /quote] Yes, I was beginning to appreciate that fact and enjoying the mental stimulus to my 'flying brain". The rationale for landing at VNY on m...

Re: KVNY landing - who to call first?
Good point ! So long as I stay west of the transition radial I can duck down below the Charlie and call Van Nuys for landing.
Thanks.

KVNY landing - who to call first?
My next big challenge is the V3 rating, which has recently been upgraded to TWO transitions of the KLAX Bravo. Consequently I have decided to simplify matters and make my first practice attempt on a single transition, by flying from KSNA to KVNY via the Coastal Route. So imagine that I have successf...
Re: PC
You may find that there is a wider audience for this kind of question in the Hardware thread over at the xplane.org forum. I suspect that the general message over there would be that the hardware required to run XP at max settings on 3 screens hasn't yet been designed (at least for consumer grade co...
