Re: Aircraft code for Robin DR401?

DR40. Everyone has been saying Robin. That or experimental are both fine.

Re: XPlane 11 and PE questions

Hey there. Welcome to the dark side! I can't answer any questions regarding the Airfoillabs C172 with VR as I haven't tried it. The Airfoillabs C172 is really good though, I can confirm that. The stock X-Plane C172 is actually really good too. As we all know, the stock FSX planes are garbage, that's...

Re: problem with sound from ATC

Windows 10? If so, I had a similar issue. There is a setting in the sounds menu in Windows 10 that is on by default. It says something along the lines of "reduce volume by xx% when other sounds are played". Basically what happens is, you 'll be hearing ATC, then you system tries to spit ou...

Re: real world avaition headsets

I've had the same pair of David Clark's for 20 years. I can confirm that they last. That said, The Bose A20's are the best. I don't own a set, but I have worn them. They are NOT cheap though.

Re: How (or if) to say no

Aviate, navigate, communicate......... in that order! Read back the frequency change, and fly the airplane. Tune your radio to the new frequency when you have the plane under control. ATC does not expect you to instantly check-in on the new frequency.

Re: Bravo shelf near Montgomery KMYF

Which takes precedence? They both do. There just happens to be a VFR corridor between them. Surface-3200 is one shelf, 4800-10000 is another. So...... You can be between 3200 and 4800 feet and not be in class B airspace.

Re: Route Clarification for KLAX

The only reason I can see that the SEAVU2 is on that TEC route is for lost comms purposes, where is says to proceed via the KLAX ILS 25L. The actual STAR ends at SEAVU, so you are ultimately flying 0% of the arrival. That said, there used to be transition routes from SEAVU to each individual runway....

Re: Mic not registered in X-Plane and PE with Samsung Odysse

Make sure the mic is set as default communication device, not just default device. It does make a difference.
