Re: IFR vs VFR on PE
Your experience is definitely not the norm. If it was, clearly we'd struggled to remain in business as nowhere on our site do we purport to focus on VFR vs iFR. I would encourage you to follow up with ops or support@pilotedge.net with details so we have the opportunity to address it.

Re: Recording screencasts in X-Plane on iMac and PilotEdge
If XP and PE are outputting to the same audio device, there is no reason that an audio capture of that device would include XP but not PE. I normally have OBS set up to capture 3 audio devices (and mix down to one channel if streaming, or keep it as 3 separate channels if recording so that I can alt...

Re: Recording screencasts in X-Plane on iMac and PilotEdge
OBS Studio is available for Mac. If it's half as good as the PC version (i have no reason to think it wouldn't be), then it's a no-brainer. It supports capture from multiple audio sources, recording to multiple tracks, or mixing down to a smaller number of tracks. It's actually pretty astounding how...

Re: Why do SkyHigh legs have to be done back to back?
Seems like it could be a fairly simple implementation to have progress monitored towards the rating even if they are broken up or with longer pauses in between It wouldn't be simple. It would require a completely new system to be stood up. Given that there is no incremental charge for user particip...

Re: VFR - Callsign for initial tower contact
This is covered in the communications workshop here: https://www.pilotedge.net/workshops/atc-communications. You can use make OR model, rather than make AND model for your callsign. So, never "Cessna Skyhawk 635ND." You can say "Cessna 635ND" or "Skyhawk 635ND". ATC nee...

It'll be at least a few weeks before I can look, I need to get access to a Big Sur test environment to try to replicate.

if it helps, an acutal 2-place aviation intercom is just over $100, which is $50 cheaper than the TASCAM: https://www.mypilotstore.com/MyPilotStore/sep/916

Re: Switching to ground after landing
AIM 4-3-14 (c): A pilot who has just landed should not change from the tower frequency to the ground control frequency until directed to do so by the controller I would ask your CFI if he/she is familiar with that clause of the AIM. Here's the likely reply, "hmm...I didn't know that was there. ...

Re: Avoid A32NX for now.
This left me VERY high and I had to dive down with all my spoilers and gear down for drag You can say "unable" on a crossing restriction if it wasn't issued in a timely fashion. No need to perform unnatural acts. Regarding 19L vs 19R, one of the drawbacks with a fictional VA is that the r...
