CAT 03 passed!

Since my return back to Germany I started on the CAT ratings. I passed CAT 1 last sunday and powered up for CAT 02 yesterday. After the second lap on downwind for the third I experienced radio outages. So I squawked 7600 and head out for Oceano. I use a BOSE X headset connected to my PC, which requi...

That a pity - no more checkrides: Passing I-11

Folks, compared to the I-10 which I passed last week, this time it was a smooth run. I passed the I-11 on the first attempt. But there's no sim flight without any isssues: This time the X-Plane client for the right view crashed while in the hold over PDZ, but I was able to deal with the malfuncton a...

Re: I-10, the hard way

Folks, I just passed my I-10! I was a little nervous on the readback of the VOR-A Approach Clearance, I should have kept more calm then. After the procedure turn, down to 3500, I reported established just before Morrow Bay, since that was what I thought was expected by me from ATC, but it seems I wa...

Re: I-10, the hard way

I nailed it down to the Nvidia card. I had to swap the card of the Main computer (forward view and x-plane master) with the one providing the left view. Not that simple because I had to drain the water cool system, unplug the tubes, unmount the cards, swap them and than all the way back. The problem...

I-10, the hard way

I flew a couple of offline flights, read about holdings, watched Keiths Workshop video and finally started to fly the route required by the I-10 within PE. Eventually I decided I would be ready for the checkride and announced my intentions to do the I-10. I screwed up to times, the first one while h...

Frequency Monitoring

It would be nice / helpful if the PE Client (X-Plane 10.45 , Windows 7/10) would allow for monitoring a frequency tuned in at COM2 while transmitting via COM1 (or vice versa).
Is this feature planned to be implemented in one of the next plugin releases?

Re: touchscreen instruments

I use two Faytech 10” touchscreens running a Garmin 1000 PFD and MFD respectively. Each on is connected to a dedicated Intel NUKE. The Software is from Project Magenta, workin just fine: PanelComplete-768x432.jpg The original panel is a X-Top designed to house Saitek gauges and yoke. Obvisously, the...

Clearance Question: Accept Maintain

On August 10th, at about 1030 Pacific, I checked in for an IFR flight from KSBA to KSMX via FLOUT5.RZS. The part of the clearance confusing me was "climb via SID, accept maintain 3000, expect 6000 10 minutes after departure". If the controller wants me to climb via SID which means - in my ...

Re: SID/DP question

Thanks for the explanation. I'll fly - and file - it tomorrow (it's 2 a.m. here in the Greater Frankfurt Aera).
