Re: Today Was The Day
Congratulations bud! Did you get your shirt tail signed? I'm actually surprised you just soloed, I watch your YouTube videos all the time, I would've figured you have soloed a long time ago with your ability to fly the airplane! Thanks. Shirt tail signed and cut off. Now hanging on the wall at the ...

Re: Runway Lights & XP 11
Here is a plugin for PCL. It makes you do it 7 times though. I wonder if there is a way to modify the plugin code to have it recognize it after 4 presses rather than 7. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/22179-pcl-pilot-controlled-lights/ I imagine you could if you changed these lines ...

PE Coverage Area X-Plane Custom Scenery
Based on a different thread where one of our colleagues is taking on the job of designing a fair number of SoCal fields that don't yet have default scenery in X-Plane, I thought this thread could serve as a collection point for scenery we build for strips in the entire coverage area. I tend to build...

Today Was The Day
I solo'd today. Mentioned it on Discord and Keith suggested I post it here as well. Using PE made me appreciate the seriousness of flying by the book and went a long way in helping me make a very deliberate decision to pursue my Private. Thanks Keith, the controllers, and the PE community for helpin...

Re: First flight, and totally lost my nerve and ran.
Congratulations and stick with it. Kyle is right. Now that the first flight is done, prepare for and do the CAT ratings in order. Don't worry if you fail one. You won't be the first to do so. But keep with it. I was shaking before my first flight. Stay with it and you'll find PE not only hugely rewa...

Re: Newbie question on expanding use of PE
Oh, and a stabilized approach does not mean "you never adjust pitch or power." Real world your hands are on the yoke and throttle and you're making adjustments because the winds, air, etc. are constantly in motion. But they are little tiny adjustments, not big ones. If you're adding 500 RP...

Re: Newbie question on expanding use of PE
The heading bug tip is a good one, but also use ground references otherwise crosswinds can blow you to / away from the field and mess up your pattern. A big key to getting the pattern right in the sim is to get your altitudes and speeds right. Presuming you're flying GA, you should be at pattern alt...

Re: X-Plane SoCal Uncontrolled Fields Overhaul (Scenery Proj
Bless you. Future releases of XP will benefit very much from this. I, too, have been slowly trying to take on some PE area fields, especially in the WUS. Since you like the Idaho backcountry you may like: - Thomspon Falls: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/35944-kthm-thompson-falls-mt/...

Re: Finally Finished!!!
Good for you. I did S to T today. I feel like I'm making progress with over 20 flights under the belt, and then I remember there's still 1-0!
