Re: Visit every airport in PilotEdge ZLA
Awesome job! If there is sufficient interest, I could look into adding this to MyFlightRoute as an additional challenge (similar to the Alphabet Challenges). A minor point in regard to "public" airports. The FAA categorizes airports both by "ownership" and "usage". 54AZ...

Re: Disconnected mid-flight
Hi Max,
As soon as you enter the Reveile South MOA, you have departed the ZLA ARTCC and entered Salt Lake CIty.

Re: Flying the Alphabet - AOPA Article as Inspiration
Thanks Marcus, nice find. I’m sure that I was aware of that discussion at the time but I have absolutely no recollection of it. I went back and looked at Peter’s original post where he proposed the route. In that post he named the airport as “Yucca Valley Airport” but used NV11 as the identifier. “Y...

Re: Flying the Alphabet - AOPA Article as Inspiration
FYI - For 5 years, Alphabet Challenge (http://www.myflightroute.com/atoz.php) pilots having been flying into NV11 (leg 24) without raising a question about the routing into restricted airspace (R-4808N). 76 pilots completed that flight. Now, five years latter, Kevin raises the question and we discov...

Re: PSPP8A TEC route
Ironically, that displacement is the result of “too much” accuracy.
The FAA’s description for DOWDD places it at: PDZ*C*270.00/15.61. So technically, there is a difference of .39 miles between DOWDD and PDZ270/16. The difference is relatively insignificant with an airway width of 8 miles.

Re: PSPP8A TEC route
PDZ270/16 is essentially the same as DOWDD.
If I recall correctly, the TEC Route was defined prior to DOWDD being established so the waypoint was defined as PDZ270/16. When DOWDD was created it was added to the TEC rout but they neglected to remove PDZ270/16.

Re: IFR Clearance at New Cuyama
PE uses 122.2 while on the ground to simulate a phone call for clearance. Must be on the ground and no more than taxi speed.

Re: Alphabet Challenge: WUS Edition
Leg 25 and leg 26 updated KZUN (Black Rock) was closed and replaced by KXNI (Andrew Othole Memorial) located about 6 miles to the southwest of the Black Rock airport location. Use whichever airport that your sim supports. In the spirit of the challenge, both airports support the town of ZUNI and the...
