Re: Creekside Air Service is open - 5CL8

I think I saw you a couple of days back flying south from the SFO area down toward Bakersfield in the J3. That must have been a zen experience for sure...

Re: Baron - lean of peak.

No question, it was not my finest moment. I failed to recognize all the signs from the instrumentation that the mixture was becoming too lean for continued operations, and then when the stove(s) did quit, I failed to execute the proper flow for a restart. There were a few reasons for this (primaril...

Re: Never again on PE - share your mistakes

Yeah, this one got me too. I had a flight into Hawthorne on the network and called for clearance and just wasn't really sure what it meant. Thank goodness for the PE learning environment; they read it and explained it when I called back. Looking at the chart, I guess it's more obvious, but it's one ...

Re: Lost Comms in X-Plane 10.5

Hi Folks, I have had a similarly frustrating problem - several attempts at the PilotEdge V-3 rating having to be abandoned half way through, due to lost comms with ATC. I am flying the stock X-plane Baron58, with Saitek radio, autopilot, and TPM with toggle switches. Having seen Keith's suggestions...

Re: Flight route

Good Morning! PE uses the same info as today's pilot in the real world. So to answer the question for 37CA, you'd pull a sectional chart and take a look at map for some hints. Since 37CA is west of John Wayne, you can hop over the mountains VFR then head for Dana Point and call the tower. They will ...

PE Team:

Any chance that you guys will provide "Tower" ATC for this event, or allow someone to control via UNICOM?

Re: Alphabet Challenge Leg 16 KPOC - 15AZ

I wonder if there's another "Q" airport that we can use instead, if this one is closed. Has anyone checked in all of the sims to see if it's showing up there?

Re: Rules for the PilotEdge Alphabet Challenge

Steve, maybe you should remove the "rule" for the Challenge to be completed by the end of 2015. I noticed that at least one relative newcomer to PE has completed it this year (2016), and the rule may discourage newer pilots from entering. I just started flying it last week ;) I changed it...
