Volume control in XP11?

Post by Turner »

Hi all,

Wanted to turn down the in-sim sounds using XP11, but none of the sliders did anything. I had to simply turn off all sound to be able to clearly hear PE.

Any ideas?

thanks,
Andrew

Likely you're using a 3rd-party aircraft which is running its own sounds. Look for a config tool built in to the aircraft.

Tim has it right, many 3rd party have their own volume controls for engine/ambient noise. However, if you're using PilotEdge v1.3.x or later, then the ATC sound slider in the X-Plane volume absolutely would've had an effect on the volume of the PilotEdge plugin, so keep that in mind before turning 'everything' down once you upgrade to the newer plugin.

Thanks guys.

Seems to have no effect in stock aircraft, though.

ATC going in and out, too. Having a very hard time simply starting up & getting going without issues....

Trying again.

Are you saying the ATC volume slider has no effect, or that you can't turn down the engine noise with stock aircraft?

Hi Keith-

Seems like only the main volume slider is turning down the volume. I think I have to experiement a bit...

Side note: Keith, I think that framerate / time slowdown thing tonight may have had something to do with the audio issues I was experiencing. Didn't notice because I was in heavy IMC & not looking at groundspeed.

Need a new computer!

1.3.1 is current, suggest grabbing that and reading the release notes here in the forum. The volume control wasn't introduced until that version.
