Re: approach procedures

Considering both the 430 and 530 are panel-mount units that run $10,000+, I think we'll probably have to wait for a commercial customer or two to see how working with a real unit works... :)

Anyone experienced it yet?

This would be just terrific...
v9 has this and I'm quite sure v8 also did. PFC has utilized this for installing real GNS430/530 hardware into their simulators. The RXP software utlilizing the Garmin Trainer inside the sim gives you all the same functionality of the real hardware for a fraction of the cost, especially if you are using the PFC control head for the 430 or the 530 head that includes the display. My last probably 40+ hours of real world flight has been with either a 430 or Garmin 1000 system. The familiarity afforded by using it in the sim for over 1,000 hours and many years give a high comfort level to its operation.

Edit*** I think the "new" part is the ability to operate two units like a true dual installation will have. This would allow for having a completely different flightplan in each unit and switch between them. Current limitation don't allow for this.
