Unable to logon to PE since upgrade

Post by Flypuck »

Hey Everyone,
Here's a head scratcher for you. PE ran perfect before the upgrade. Haven't been able to get on after the upgrade.
Checked all the usual suspects (run install as admin, don't run FSX as admin. ect...).
Here's the first error I was getting:
PE Fail.png
PE Fail.png (586.42 KiB) Viewed 5133 times
Then I started getting this:
PE Fail Sonar.png
PE Fail Sonar.png (391.67 KiB) Viewed 5133 times
Then Norton promptly deletes PE from my hard drive.
Any clue what's happening here?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Confirm you are using the latest FSX PE client (v1.0.2 dated June 17th 2014 or later)

Did you recently re-install FSX? If so, did you re-install FSX service pack 2 (FSX-SP2) or FSX Acceleration? If not, likely this is the first problem.

Check out this link.

That version of PE is for FS2004. You need to run PilotEdge for Flight Simulator X. Also, you need to tell Sonar to stop deleting the EXE file that you'd like to run.

Thanks for the reply guys.
Have not reloaded FSX, however, I am running SP1 and not SP2. Is SP2 required? It ran well with just SP1 pre-upgrade.

Uninstalled PE and deleted all traces of the previous install.
Told Norton to ignore PE.
Installed PE again and presto. I'm up and running.
Thanks for the help!!
