How to update FSX 2004 approach plates

Post by fabriciofigueroa »

The RNAV and most of the approaches and several frequencies are outdated and don't match the current approach plates.
Does anyone knows of a trusted website where I can pay for that service pack or something?

This site has been around for a long long time, I've personally used its tools for years without issues: http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html The cycle updates are monthly.

I have used both NavDataPro from Aerosoft and Navigraph. Navigraph is slightly cheaper. While the Aerosoft installer is more complex to initially set up, it's easier to use once correctly set up. IMO Aerosoft installer is superior if you have a lot of sim products to update. In my case I have FSX, PMDG, X-plane, and Carenado.

As s sim only pilot, I normally update sim navigation data about every 18 months. Since both products include data for every covered simulator product, the costs are very reasonable. Also makes it possible to keep all of your different sim products in sync.

Bottom line. Look at the supported products and pick the one that covers all of the sim products that you are likely to have.
