I've been experiencing numerous FSX crashes when used with Pilot Edge. FSX never crashes when using FSX offline.
Have minimized Range of other aircraft to 2
Frequency updates set to minimum of 1 / sec
Utilizing Windows 7 with 6 GB RAM installed (3.25 Usable)
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Larry

Re: FSX Computer Crashes with PilotEdge
Have you looked at the crash log to try to figure out exactly what is the problem?
Re: FSX Computer Crashes with PilotEdge
Thanks Marcus for your response...this is what I get from the Event Viewer listed under Application Hang.
The program fsx.exe version 10.0.61472.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.

Yeah, that doesn't really seem to show much. With what the crash log shows, it could be anything. Wish I could say I could help.

Re: FSX Computer Crashes with PilotEdge
The 61472 in the message refers to SimConnect. Try installing the version that comes with the PE client and see if that helps. I've never had a SimConnect crash after installing that one. I (sadly) have three versions of SimConnect installed and no issues or conflicts because of it --yet.larrythek wrote:Thanks Marcus for your response...this is what I get from the Event Viewer listed under Application Hang.

Thanks Steve for your response
I don't see any reference to using SImConnect in the instructions for using the PE client.
Can you please explain further?
And to the question from MervA...no I'm not using FSUIPC

Re: FSX Computer Crashes with PilotEdge
G'day Larry,
What Steve wants you to do is go to the Pilotedge installed folder, you will find a " simconnect.msi " file there, run this and see if that fixes the problem.
Cya !

Re: FSX Computer Crashes with PilotEdge
Thanks Merv
I've re-executed simconnect.msi and will connect to Pilot Edge later tonight.
BTW, I see there's a fairly new version of the PE client shown on the website. I'll install the latest version if I continue to get crashes.
Thanks for your response.

Re: FSX Computer Crashes with PilotEdge
To Steve & Merv
Just had a successful 1 hour flight with PE.
Hopefully re-installing simconnect.msi did the trick.
Will try another flight tomorrow night. Thanks for your help.
