Xplane and FSX scenary not aligned

Postby dabooth813 » Wed Feb 01, 2017 10:02 pm

While doing the CAT2 rating I was located at the New Cuyama airport with another pilot. I am using FSX and he was using Xplane. He was taking from 28 and I noticed that he was taking off to the north of my location and I was sitting at the transient parking location just off the 28 runway. appears that the xplane scenery does not align with FSX. Any solution.

That problem can't be solved generally. It depends on what data the scenery creator used for placing the airport/runways and how accurate he was in doing it. Also there are automatically created airports which can have their own inacuracies.

But it's not only a problem regarding different platforms. There can also be discrepancies between an addon airport and the stock FSX/P3D airport on the same platform. And even if the ground plot is the same, there may stell be different elevations so that one user sees the other one's plane floating in the air or it's diving several feet below the ground.
